May Day Musings

As May Day, a socialist European holiday replete with protest marches, illegal alien rallies fueled by anti-Americanism and public hatred for freedom and individualism, occurs today, two humble musings.
{This essay below was also published yesterday here. Though I’m always proud to be an American considering our freedoms, I give up on the ungrateful left.}
1. The economy and health care
The US Democrats of today and the past few years are controlled by only the most radical elements: congressmen, financial backers, its government-run media, the president and especially his incompetent cabinet. As a former Democrat, this pains me, since overall, many of my views are more democratic than republican (lower case). However, this is factually a Social Democrat or Statist Party now, and getting worse, not better, under current “leadership.” While writers in Newsweek, the Washington Post and left-wing blogs publicly hail these efforts—while, of course, practicing the opposite in private—I seek no part of it.
Every fiscal decision (takeovers of the health/auto/student loans industuries, naive “too big to fail” mentality, demonizing Wall Street and capitalism, irresponsible/do-nothing stimuli to deter recovery and prolong national agony, etc) is a move toward socialism and a way to fundamentally change The Greatest Nation on Earth. Like fringe/non-existent topics such as “global warming,” gays in the military, racial discrimination, and so on, these failed policies are purely political, to obtain votes, and keep “their people” in power. Many of them, like health care “reform,” sadly cannot be undone.
The Tea Partiers who protest, on the other hand, are patriotic, intrepid and prescient. They will go down in history, should they succeed in 2010 and 2012, as similarly vital to American liberty as those in the late 18th century who stood up to the Crown in England and created the America most of the world knows, admires and would move to in a second if they could. Our great-great-great grandchildren will someday read about these heroic souls. Their critics who do not grant them First Amendment rights will be remembered in infamy.
The left’s intolerance stems from the fact that they know their own insidious plans to shrink the individual into a bitter servant of the State, while perhaps semi-popular in western Europe, are hated by most Americans. Polls show this.
Unlike most of The Continent, we are a happy/proud people that values religion, discourse, the Second Amendment, liberty, self-reliance, family, life, land, capitalism, the military and so much else that the “progressive” left deplores—even though most of them use it to their benefit daily (and to a higher degree than most of us). This is hypocritical, sad and true.
So considering the “secular humanists’” policies to keep the proletariat (us) down are failures, what remains? Demonizing the opposition—not with facts of course, but rather with a media-driven campaign of fake stories and petulant name calling, particularly racism and class warfare. The question is, will it work?
Luckily for them, they control the print/TV/film media and academia, so this has had some success over the most gullible, selfish and over-educated among us: elites, some “minorities,” corrupt Unions and their overpaid workers, and the Youth. The racists of the left are now using dark-skinned people (Hispanics, blacks, “natives” etc), women, “the poor & oppressed” and collegians to rally to their side. Socialists, Fascists and radicals always use race and “diversity/multi-culti” to divide and blame others for their own failures. Hitler, Mao, Stalin and others patented this, and Pelosi/Obama/Reid have followed well, though this should never happen in America. Obama was mentored in these heinous endeavors by enemies of America like Wright, Ayres, Alinsky and some rogue Islamic anti-Semites. 70 million ignore that and still voted for him.
In a nutshell, it’s become increasingly clear that Democrats have lost the Independents who, as always, will be the deciding voice this fall. Even worse, as public approval of ObamaCare continues to drop, it’s obvious that Democrats have given up any hope of getting them back. Everyday Americans feel that they have been shut out of the democratic process, with no one addressing record-breaking unemployment.
For lame-duck Connecticut liberal Chris Dodd, the man who with Barney Frank single-handedly caused the recession more than any other, to call names and still chair financial committees is akin to Jesse Jackson affecting race policy...oh wait he does!
Out of options, the President— now a liability for Democrat candidates in the fall— and his campaign aides are going back to the Democrats’ worn-out playbook and making factless and reprehensible accusations of “voter suppression.” At what point will Democrats realize that polarizing this country on the lines of race is not only passé, but morally wrong and ineffective? They have not grown much from their ancestors’ slave-owning roots 150 years ago.
As Dennis Prager shared in his most recent syndicated column:
“One of the more dangerous features of the Left has been its replacement of moral categories of right and wrong, and good and evil with three other categories: black and white (race), male and female (gender) and rich and poor (class)...This helps explain the widespread use of ad hominem attacks by the Left: Rather than argue against their opponents’ ideas, the Left usually dismisses those making the argument disagreed with as “racist,” “intolerant,” “bigoted,” “sexist,” “homophobic” and/or “xenophobic.”
I have been to Tea Party rallies and, unlike anti-war hatefests, they represent the best of America: not inner city welfare recipients or latte leftists at Michael Moore’s film festivals, but a preponderance of hard-working Americans fed up with government running their lives in lieu of themselves. This is an America that Obama and the urbanites despise, do not respect, nor care to understand. They do NOT tolerate opposing views or “patriotic dissent” when they’re in power, as they think they know better than you and/or I how to run our lives. This is the epitome of arrogance.
These Tea Party people, who basically represent every American demographic evenly, are very knowledgeable. Their opponents are the ones who are ignorant, especially of history, hence LA & NYC millionaires like Frank Rich, Janeane Garofalo, Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann devolve to name-calling and scare tactics. I don’t “grasp their irony and satire” as they regularly say of conservatives once we expose their lunacy.
History shows the Tea Partiers are accurate.
History also shows Democrats enslaved blacks, segregated them, founded the KKK to terrorize free blacks, passed Jim Crow Laws, then opposed anti-lynching legislation and school integration, while Republicans began the Civil Rights Era in the 1950s and have tried to aid blacks for 150 years into today. Meanwhile, condescending Democrats continue to hold blacks (and other “minorities” of their choosing) back via welfare, affirmation action and “social engineering” policies so as to secure votes. They do not think of the aforementioned as equal. Dr. Martin Luther King, a Republican, would roll in his grave. Any concern from so-called “liberals” about minority and low-income voters is phony and always has been. Just look at their daily lives of segregated luxury.
Those who left the USSR and other Communist/Socialist lands for American freedom literally stand with the Tea Party, realizing that with each day of Democrat rule, the USA is moving closer to the horrific European, African, Middle Eastern and Southeast Asian lands they left behind.
Ignorant leftists here—mostly wealthy—have never been taught this history, so they don’t care. The left controls the schools, and of all matters, this generational brainwashing may be the most detrimental to our future. Colleges may be the worst, but it starts with totalitarian indoctrination as early as kindergarten, and surely through middle and high school by union-controlled, left-wing “educators” who misunderstand (or, more often know nothing about) this nation. Remember, I taught for five years and still work with the schools daily.
Immigration Reform is yet another issue the left has lost, yet shamefully tries to keep itself relevant in...along racial lines, naturally. The federal government has failed miserably to not only protect our borders, but also arrogantly (in a way only elite Democrats could) continues to demean those private citizens trying to protect our beloved nation. This is a national security issue, as violence is occurring against Americans, not to mention radical Islamists can easily make their way across.
Washington has thus abandoned their rights of protection because of their lax and disingenuous actions, i.e. choosing not to protect our borders. This means the Border States are hung out to dry and must protect themselves. We all must help.
Is it any wonder then that Arizona is telling Washington: “You have abandoned us; we must protect ourselves.” Liberals refuse to understand or recognize this from their gated communities. No name calling or eye-rolling; these are facts.
If an American state’s leadership is tired of seeing their health care, economy and safety affected or ruined by illegal immigrants while the Democrat-dominated Federal Government delays action to seem “politically correct,” this is not racism, nor will anyone’s (terrorists, illegals, and other nefarious types) precious “civil liberties” be violated. There has never been a more benign superpower in world history than these United States of America.
Like with national security, lives are at stake, and the vast majority side with Arizona, not the ignorant president. I certainly applaud Gov. Jan Brewer as do most I know, including those of all races here legally like my wife and her family.
Wrapping up these topics, there is a reason so many, like me, move right soon after they leave college; and why so many who stay in school into their late 20s or 30s (ala Obama, and what he prefers – e.g. health bill extending children to age 26!) remain bereft of the most fundamental and important knowledge about America…
especially its military history and foreign policy, which leads me to…
2. Israel, the War on Terror and National Security
Barack H. Obama was raised, educated and surrounded by Israel’s greatest foes his entire life—from Honolulu, Jakarta and Los Angeles to Cambridge, Morningside Heights, Chicago and Washington. He therefore is NOT pro Israel. If you argue otherwise, stop reading now.
His policies up to the election reflected this, and have shown to be the same the past 465 days in office. Anyone who bought into a speech at a Boca Raton synagogue, or who is still in denial, is clearly mentally unbalanced, full of white guilt, and cannot be trusted. Israel cannot “take care of themselves,” as the cliché goes by folks trying to bury their heads in the sand. They are a more important ally now than ever, considering we have the same enemies, especially after September 11. The president disagrees. He has no knowledge nor wisdom.
How can we explain the president’s indefensible behavior toward the ONLY pro-Western liberal democracy in a region of 500 million Arabs who want to kill us all?
The man seriously does not understand that it’s okay for an anti-Colonial superpower like the USA or a free, pluralistic democracy that craves peace ala Israel to have nuclear weapons, but it is not okay for Iran or other rogue regimes who’d use them to murder millions. This is something a 3rd grader comprehends, but our Ivy League-educated president does not.
Telling. It’s also why I’d take a “simplistic, good vs. evil” Bush, Huckabee or Palin over an Obama, Clinton or Kerry any day, as would most I know.
For American Jews, often the worst offenders of this illogical moral relativism, they’re akin to the village Jews of Ukraine, Poland and elsewhere in eastern Europe refusing to acknowledge Hitler as a threat in 1938. In 2008, it was Obama or Ahmadinejad they ignored, while finding evil in our Christian allies. Orwellian, to put it mildly.
Sadly, there are millions like this here and in Israel. Thankfully, the Americans have more money and space to hide. Israel...not so much.
I pray for them. I’ll leave it there, as I’ve sent hundreds of emails/articles/studies out, and many have woken up. Though considering the polls telling us that half of Jews are now atheists and far far more Republicans and Christians support Israel than Democrats and Jews, Israel is, for better or worse, now more of an American ally issue than a Jewish issue 62 years after its founding.
American liberal Jews are truly reprehensible and backwards-thinking. Most of them don’t care about Israel, as they’re more concerned about a woman’s right to abort her unborn child (which Judaism rejects) than Israel. If left-leaning American “Jews” were fair and knowledgeable, they’d comprehend that Evangelical Christians are the only folks trying to prevent Obama from breaking ties with Israel.
As Ben Shapiro added on Wednesday:
“Would you sacrifice the support of millions of good-hearted Christians because they want to discuss Jesus with you? If your own belief system is so fragile, the weakness is yours, not theirs. While you expend energy whining about Jehovah’s Witnesses who show up at your door with a Bible, Obama supports radical Muslims who would show up at your door with a gun — or, as in the case of Daniel Pearl, a butcher’s knife.”
Obama-supporting Jews have finally removed themselves from our unparalleled Jewish history in favor of “reproductive rights” i.e. libertinism over liberty. Congratulations.
I’d be remiss for not pointing out Sarah Palin (like Bush, Cheney et al) loves Israel, and Jews loathe her. Obama and his cronies (including the despicable Rahm Emanuel and David Axelrod) loathe Israel, yet Jews (mostly the secular & wealthy, of course) adore him. Something is wrong. You should still care about Israel, even from your Bel Air/Marin/Great Neck/Potomac estates.
As for the Global War On Terrorism, we’re doing well—and have been for the past three years. The lack of military history knowledge here and abroad is dreadful, and why the majority of people don’t understand this war. Fewer than ten percent have worn the uniform. And since fascist colleges have banned military history, future generations will not take pride in a military that has freed billions from tyranny and does more for peace in one day than the United Nations has in 65 years.
The Democrat leaders (cf. Reid, Dean, Edwards, Boxer, Hillary, Kerry, Biden, Obama) tried to lose this war, exploit life and death matters for political gain, and bring our troops home as failures for six long years. President George W. Bush refused. Thank goodness too, as had we Obama, Gore or Clinton—as president for seven years after the 1993 WTC bombings, the latter’s State Department did nothing to expel Bin Laden, rein in al-Qaeda or diminish Taliban support for jihadism—we’d be in deep trouble.
Now Pres. Obama, who opposed fighting evil since day one, will get “credit” for some it, but Bush was correct and is the hero - along with Petraeus, Dick Cheney, other military officers and soldiers—as well as, of all people, John McCain, who backed The Surge. This “surge,” led by the esteemed Gen. Petraeus’s, unfairly caricatured at the time and now largely forgotten, was a remarkable military and political victory.
Senator John McCain has his drawbacks, but it is one of the great American tragedies that McCain lost the 2008 election, considering how many times he’s risked his life and career for this country. That he lost to a narcissist like Obama is the epitome of the wrong man winning.
Consider:
“John McCain and Barack Obama have similar accomplishments: Giving 50 million people the chance for the freedom you take for granted is just as honorable as reading someone else’s empty words on a teleprompter.”
Summarizing:
-The Iraq portion of the G.W.O.T. is now won and conveniently long forgotten.
-Operation Iraqi Freedom “news stories” have vanished from Katie Couric, Brian Williams and Anderson Cooper’s desks, since Bush is no longer our president.
-There are more murders in most US cities each month than Baghdad.
-"Antiwar" rallies occur yearly at most, rather than weekly. The disrespectful ones we permitted on our War Memorial’s steps every Friday which drew 25-30 people each week vanished as of January 2009. They were never about saving lives or war policy anyway, but rather political—i.e. to get “their guy” in the Oval Office. These are sick human beings.
-With the help of lies from the media and school, the fringe Americans succeeded in convincing a Joseph Goldberg or a Sally Thompson in your typical US suburb that “Bush Lied” and “The War is Lost” despite neither being remotely true.
-Operation Iraq Freedom is and was a successful and vital war in the face of massive ignorant opposition, yet no credit will ever be given, no parades for the victors, etc. And while Mr. Bush is too humble to care, I am not. I’m disgusted by the traitorous actions of the anti-war/anti-military/anti-democracy bigots. Truly, shame on the liberals choosing to again side with the murderous enemy instead of with those actually bringing real peace. PEACE is often only achieved through strength and victory, not anti-war rallies nor “hope.”
-For all the tragedy of Iraq, what was unthinkable in 2006 has now become accepted — a continuing constitutional government and a month of “war” (Dec. 2009) without a single American fatality.
-Despite initial victory in record time eight years ago, the current Administration has erroneously moved the center of the G.W.O.T. to Afghanistan because Obama (sort of) campaigned on that. It will be a much tougher, if not impossible fight, as we’ve already seen, which is why Pres. Bush moved the focal point to Iraq. Casualties in Operation Enduring Freedom are already heavier. I could call the president a warmonger, but I support him and the mission, since, unlike critics during the Bush era, I’m a proud American. But be certain, he’s escalated this mission out of necessity. He did not want to, but has done so to save face. This all may not end as well.
And to make the vitriolic Bush haters of the left even more enraged, Mr. Obama has sagaciously kept all the “controversial,” “illegal” Bush war-time policies in place (Gitmo, Patriot Act, surveillance/so-called “wiretapping)...and why? Because they are completely legal and work, always have been.
We’ve not been hit since 9/11/2001—a remarkable feat that often goes unnoticed by the masses—though in Obama’s first year, thanks to Janet Incompitano and a military afraid to “offend” Muslim radicals, we essentially had two terror attacks: Ft. Hood and Christmas Day 2009.
The year 2009 saw the greatest number of foiled terrorist plots against America since 9/11. Indeed, one-third of all such attempts in the last eight years happened last year — despite Obama’s idiotic Al Arabiya interview, the Cairo speech, the bowing to Saudi royals, the promises to close Guantanamo Bay, and the ritual trashing of the Bush anti-terrorism policies.
Apparently, apologies and “overtures” don’t work, folks. Who knew? Everyone with a brain.
As Victor Davis Hanson wrote in Jan. 2010:
“Islamists ignore past American help to, and support for, Islamic peoples in Afghanistan, Bosnia, Chechnya, Indonesia, Iraq, Kosovo, Kuwait, and Somalia — only to pay far more deference to the Chinese and Russians, who have systematically oppressed and often butchered fellow Muslims.”
“The world” may love us again (actually, our allies in Britain, France, Italy, Germany, Israel, Korea, Japan, eastern Europe and Colombia dislike us more than ever thanks to Obama’s rudeness and lack of maturity), but our enemies have no fear of this president, as he’s chosen to laud them, castigates allies, and surely give no credit, only blame, to his predecessor. “Diplomacy for “diplomacy’s sake,” does not resolve conflict, but rather is a tool of asymetric warfare that undercuts US national security.
For starters, nearly 16 months in, I recommend Obama finally “grows a pair” (pardon the pun) and fires some of his horrific staff, particularly Eric Holder, Napolitano and Jewish kapos like David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel. These people are embarrassingly naive. That’s a start. November 2010 and 2012 will hopefully be the finish.
The bottom line is that we right-leaning folks “told you so.” We have been correct, more or less, on EVERY SINGLE key issue the past few years. A mature person would admit that before returning to a world of I-pods, Art fairs, David Letterman, global warming summits and CNN. I won’t hold my breath. The selfishness, intolerance and ignorance of the left is breathtaking and dangerous.
