The Voice of Which She Spoke - The Spirit of New Hampshire Lives in Mrs. Clinton

In case you missed it, Hillary Clinton took credit for the success of the surge in Iraq on Meet the Press yesterday.  She says the prospect of her assuming the presidency in January 2009 is forcing miraculous military progress in the formerly (in the words of Senate Democrat colleague Harry Reid) “lost war.”

I think Hillary was speaking to MTP host Tim Russert with her new found voice.  Remember?  As Mrs. Clinton eating humble pie in that New Hampshire diner, she welled up with tears, and spoke of her then dying ambition (because Barak Obama was leading in the NH primary polls) to bring her predestined goodness to a world crying out for an irrevocable wellspring of peace.

Mrs. Clinton with a lead, without fear of losing, and with a regal sense of entitlement, is a dangerous entity.  Dangerous for you, me and the country; dangerous for the troops, in or out of harms way; dangerous for freedom of speech and freedom in general; dangerous, dangerous, dangerous: where she gets taken out on the road to the White House is not important (in the nominating process by Obama, or, in the general election by the Republican candidate), but it must be done.

Remember her husband’s pledge of a middle-class tax cut?  That pledge became the largest tax increase in human history (no one escaped; even Social Security recipient’s taxes were raised – so much for tax increases for the rich!).  If Mrs. Clinton returns to the Oval Office – in much better condition than how they left it eight years hence – get ready for more historic tax increases.  Get ready for socialism’s and Communism’s greatest thinkers to replace the portraits of Washington, Jefferson and Lincoln.  Get ready for a Red Army of private investigators to neutralize detractors and a KGB-style of intimidation tactics to silence critics.

For a moment, in that New Hampshire diner, we saw the woman without the power in her eyes.  It had been stripped clean by a temporary wind from America’s midsection.  But, once again near the ocean’s billowing churn, the vision of future conquest was positioned back into her eyes and placed into her hands like a scepter from the sea gods.  It’s steel feel still cold from the depths it had assumed and now warmed by the glow of new life.

Before whom will Mrs. Clinton now have to genuflect to show appreciation for this great gift?  She said she “found her voice” in the wake of this miraculous turn of events.  Where does this “voice” originate?  From the North where the winds of a fallen Soviet Union call from the grave?  From the East where China stands calling for more inclination and favor – like in seasons past?  Surely when a Leftist sees the light – they do not call out “who are you, Lord?” Instead they sing a refrain of “Don’t Cry for me Argentina” – for it is themselves that they cry.

And what does Obama do now?  He loses.  With this injection of “voice through victory” comes a dominating Queen on her way to the throne – and nothing or no one will stop her.  It will be left to the Republican challenger to seize the poisoned apple from her hand – meant to lull us all to sleep with its shiny allure—and restore order.  After all, America’s long greatness and future excellence awaits a champion.
