‘Is Mitt Minding The Store?’
Election 2012 piece by Aaron Goldstein
(1/31/12)
Mitt Romney’s performance in last Thursday’s GOP debate in Jacksonville was widely praised for his assertiveness against Newt Gingrich and it may have effectively neutralized the former House Speaker’s victory five days earlier in South Carolina. If Romney earns a decisive victory in Florida, it could prove to be the turning point in winning the Republican nomination. But his debate performance should have instead raised a big red flag.

Correctly Framing the 2012 Elections
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(12/29/11)
As the nation lurches into the 2012 election season, the propagandists of the liberal media have gone into high gear. Their singular job is to prevent the American people from correctly assessing the precarious condition of their country, what needs to be done about it and, most dangerously of all, who among the major Republican contenders could best assume the helm of the nation’s government in order to implement a proper course of action.

Evidence, finally, of Democrat naivete
Useful Idiots piece by Gary Krasner
(12/22/11)
Democrats created what they thought was a good wedge issue in foreign policy, and since about 2006 or so----after the Iraq war became sufficiently unpopular----they advanced it in the form of the mantra, “we must talk to our enemies.”

The ABC News candidate’s debate has just concluded. I will give the correct answer to one of the questions.

Topeka, Kansas, Unified School District 501 Places Sexual Deviancy on Its Curriculum
Edukshun piece by Paul A. Ibbetson
(11/26/11)
What part should schools play in the personal development of our children? Most parents naturally expect teachers and administrative staff to assist their children in learning important skills like reading, writing, and arithmetic, but we now know a child’s development goes far beyond the basics at school. Upon closer inspection, most parents recognize that schools often teach children additional skills, such as how to interact with others, follow rules, think critically, and in many cases, develop career aspirations for what their Mom’s and Dad’s hope will be a bright and happy future. All this instruction is positive and benefits our children. However, there is more still that students will learn.

Progressivism piece by OffSite

The American left and the Democratic Party are mobilizing in defense of their sacred values: corruption, cowardice and concessions to contributors.

Five Wars, 63 Years of Terrorism, and Israel Survives
Middle East piece by Alan Caruba
(9/18/11)
The people who have given us bagels and lox, potato latkes, and chicken soup, in addition to the Old Testament, Albert Einstein, and a list of Nobel Prize winners as long as your arm, are in for yet another interesting week.

Slow Employment Growth? Look to Obamacare
ObamaCare piece by OffSite
(9/16/11)
WASHINGTON- You can’t open a newspaper or turn on the TV these days without tax talk. Should the reduction in worker payroll taxes be continued in 2012? Should it be extended to employers?

Israel On The Brink
Middle East piece by J. D. Longstreet
(9/14/11)
Israel is preparing to lose its friend to the south, Egypt. Well, the fact is that Egypt was never a friend of Israel. See, Egypt found that after at their much-vaunted military was defeated several times by Israel’s military, even when Egypt was allied with several other Islamic countries, maybe they had better seek someway to save face. They did that with a peace treaty in 1979, which has held until the recent over throw of the Mubarak regime. Now all bets are off.
‘Palestine - Will Acceptance Ever Replace Rejection?’
Middle East piece by Guest:
David Singer (9/14/11)
The expulsion of Israel’s ambassador from Turkey and the forced withdrawal of Israel’s entire diplomatic corps from Egypt have become the catalysts to ensure further virulent assaults on the Jewish people at the Durban 111 Conference on Racism to be held in New York next week and the UN meeting shortly thereafter to possibly consider a resolution calling for the recognition of a Palestinian Arab State.
‘What Was Left Out of the 9/11 Memorials?’
Political Correctness piece by OffSite
(9/14/11)
The Memorials of 9-11 were varied, stirring, and in one case disturbing as New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg slammed the door on Christian clergy who should have been present, prayers being offered and even in the face of first responders who rushed in to save lives after the Muslim attacks. These heroes were excluded from the ceremonies.
‘What About Those 234 Inmates Executed in Texas?’
Crime piece by Aaron Goldstein
(9/14/11)
I thought Texas Governor Rick Perry handled himself with repose and restraint when he answered Brian Williams’ loaded question about the death penalty during last week’s GOP Presidential Debate at the Reagan Library. To be precise, Williams asked: Governor Perry, a question about Texas. Your state has executed 234 death row inmates, more than any other Governor in modern times. Have you struggled to sleep at night with the idea that any one of them, those (sic) might have been innocent? (1)

National Unity After 9-11 Shattered by One Man
The Republic piece by Guest:
Austin Miles (9/12/11)
An almost eerie feeling of unity swept across America in the aftermath of 9-11. Churches kept their doors open so people could come in at any hour to pray. The nation was back on its knees, reaching out to God, whom they had become careless with over the years.

Lefty Protesters: Here’s a Poll to Help Us Find Out What We are REALLY Mad About
Progressivism piece by Warner Todd Huston
(9/10/11)
I had to laugh when I found out about the left’s newest protest du jour. They are hopin’ mad, don’t cha know? So mad that they are busy organizing marches, protests, civil disobedience, and all sorts of activities to protest it all. But amusingly they aren’t even sure what it is they are mad about.

America’s Economy Is Interwoven With Its Morality
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(9/8/11)
With this week’s Republican debate having gained a major position in the media spotlight and actually a delay in Barack Obama’s over-hyped “Jobs” (read: Deficit spending and pork) speech, it is inarguable that the 2012 presidential campaign season is in full swing. And though the public is usually loath to once again face all of the pandering, self-absorption, and half-truths of modern campaigning, this election cycle is one that could not come soon enough.

Ten Years After
National Security piece by Aaron Goldstein
(9/7/11)
On April 30, 2011, while on a visit to New York City, my father and I made a point of going to Ground Zero. It was a Saturday afternoon that was supposed to be warm but the wind was heavy and my sweater wasn’t equal to the task. The chilliness was accompanied by a feeling of emptiness. Although progress was being made on 1 World Trade Center there was still a large gaping hole where the WTC once stood. It is well worth remembering that the Empire State Building was built in a little over a year ahead of schedule and under budget in the midst of The Great Depression. (1) Sadly, the rebuilding of the WTC has become an unfortunate testament to our “can’t do” bureaucratic spirit which has the effect of making us look weak and small to our allies and enemies alike. Nor does it honor those who perished that Tuesday morning.

Dangerous Minorities Evoke Misplaced Fears
The Republic piece by Guest:
Austin Miles (9/6/11)
The Communist Soviet Union ruled the population with an iron hand, evoking fear by their very presence, dictating every move made and even every thought. Yet, those Communists who bullied and ruled, only encompassed 10 percent of the whole country! A minority. Yet they spoke and moved with such confident authority that one would dare not challenge them in any way.

‘Why Do We Have Labor Day Instead Of International Workers Day?’
Unions piece by Guest:
Robert Rohlfing (9/5/11)
Today we celebrate Labor Day with festivals and parades, but many have forgotten how Labor Day became a national holiday. It is thought that it is in celebration of the labors of all workers, while others claim it is in celebration of the Unions and the struggle that they contributed to working conditions. Labor Day has a history that many today would not like to examine and that is the correlation between the socialist movement and labor. In the early days of the labor movement in America organizers and labor leaders were sympathetic to the teachings of Socialism and Marxism, today we are seeing this emerge once again with current leaders and the message that they are promoting in the political arena.

Through Greed and Communism the Dream is Lost: The Martin Luther King Washington Monument
History piece by Paul A. Ibbetson
(9/2/11)
Opportunities to do good are lost every day. Either through apathy, stupidity, or unfortunately sometimes, bad intentions, situations where good can be done are not only lost, but are replaced with something that is detrimental to society. The Martin Luther King, Jr., Monument in Washington’s National Mall is just such an example. The series of events that brought “this version” of the depiction of the famous civil rights activist to “this location” shows the world just how out of line the culture of our country has now become.

Liberals And ‘Moderates’ Unwittingly Campaign For Perry
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(9/1/11)
All too predictably, the insidious onslaught against Texas Governor Rick Perry is now in full swing. On the heels of the very first rumors last spring that he might consider a run for the presidency, and long before he officially announced, the Democrat political hit machine, its collaborators in “mainstream” liberal media, and even the standard RINO mouthpieces were lining up to cut him down to size. Perry has hit the campaign trail in a big way, and as such he poses a threat not only to Barack Obama, but to the entire “bipartisan” apparatus of Beltway insiders.

Palestine - United Nations Faces The Music

David Singer (8/30/11)
The horrendous news of the bombing of the UN headquarters in Nigeria’s capital - Abuja - reportedly by a radical Islamist group - killing at least 19 people and wounding more than 60 other persons - has been rightly described by the United Nations Security Council as a “heinous crime”.(1)

An EPA Moratorium
Employment/Jobs piece by OffSite
(8/29/11)
Obama has the power to delay new rules that will shut down 8% of all U.S. power generation.- Since everyone has a suggestion or three about what President Obama can do to get the economy cooking again, here’s one of ours: Immediately suspend the Environmental Protection Agency’s bid to reorganize the U.S. electricity industry, and impose a moratorium on EPA rules at least until hiring and investment rebound for an extended period.

A Weather Newsgasm
Weather piece by Alan Caruba
(8/28/11)
What major weather events and especially earthquakes tell us is that we live on planet Earth on its terms, not ours. Put another way, we don’t “control” the weather or climate and, despite decades of global warming lies, compared to the sun and oceans, we don’t even influence it.

Obama Owns the Great Recession
Depression/Recession piece by OffSite
(8/25/11)
President Barack Obama finally got something right. In a recent interview, he said he is confident we will not enter a double-dip recession. But that is because we never left the first dip.
‘Will the 2012 Political Campaign be the Most Violent in This Countries History??’
Election 2012 piece by Guest:
Donald W. Tucker (8/25/11)
America is entering into a political season that will probably have the candidates slugging it out for this Office, with no holds barred. The 2012 election will be like no previous political encounter because of the current climate of vitiosity, hate and anger exhibited by the different political factions and their followers.
Liberals Redefine ‘Extremism’ And The ‘Political Center’
Progressivism piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(8/25/11)
Among the major factors inspiring the conservative grassroots across America to take action is the seeming inability of those in office to stand fast against the liberal onslaught. And while this has always been a problem for career politicians, no matter how sincerely and idealistically they began their terms of office, the situation has clearly gotten worse in recent years. With the recent raising of the debt ceiling, Barack Obama was granted a veritable green light to shamelessly continue his outlandish spending binge. Worse yet, those relative few in the Congress who sought to hold the line on spending have since been essentially criminalized, and are regularly denigrated in the harshest of terms.

Ruling by decree when leadership fails
ObamaNation piece by Guest:
Peter Lemiska (8/22/11)
In recent years, the entire country has been focused on its plunging economy. Housing prices are at historic lows, and the jobless rate is at 9.1%. The number is significantly higher in minority communities. The stock market is collapsing, and roughly one in seven Americans are now on food stamps, another historic high.

Promoting Socialism thru Journalism 101-Part 4
MSM piece by Guest:
Austin Miles (8/20/11)
Linguistic legerdemain is a proper description of the methods employed by the Socialist media to slant their version of happenings and events that affect readers while shoe-horning them into their agenda. That is, Marxism. The bottom line of the media is persuasion to a particular ideology.

Walter Williams Warns of Second Obama Win
Election 2012 piece by Thomas D. Segel
(8/19/11)
Harlingen, Texas, August 18, 2011: The first thing I saw this morning was a newspaper headline that informed me of the huge response to the upcoming opening of a new Bass Pro Shop in our city. They were holding a three day job fair. In the first two days more than 2500 people had stood for hours in the blistering South Texas sun awaiting the opportunity to place their applications in the mix for around 350 full and part time employment positions. More people are standing in line today for these same jobs…and this is a small city of only about 60,000 people.
Ominous parallels
Progressivism piece by OffSite
(8/19/11)
People are beginning to compare Barack Obama’s administration to the failed administration of Jimmy Carter, but a better comparison is to the Roosevelt administration of the 1930s and ‘40s. Let’s look at it with the help of a publication from the Mackinac Center for Public Policy and the Foundation for Economic Education titled “Great Myths of the Great Depression,” by Dr. Lawrence Reed.
