‘Is Mitt Minding The Store?’
Election 2012 piece by Aaron Goldstein
(1/31/12)
Mitt Romney’s performance in last Thursday’s GOP debate in Jacksonville was widely praised for his assertiveness against Newt Gingrich and it may have effectively neutralized the former House Speaker’s victory five days earlier in South Carolina. If Romney earns a decisive victory in Florida, it could prove to be the turning point in winning the Republican nomination. But his debate performance should have instead raised a big red flag.

Correctly Framing the 2012 Elections
Election 2012 piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(12/29/11)
As the nation lurches into the 2012 election season, the propagandists of the liberal media have gone into high gear. Their singular job is to prevent the American people from correctly assessing the precarious condition of their country, what needs to be done about it and, most dangerously of all, who among the major Republican contenders could best assume the helm of the nation’s government in order to implement a proper course of action.

Evidence, finally, of Democrat naivete
Useful Idiots piece by Gary Krasner
(12/22/11)
Democrats created what they thought was a good wedge issue in foreign policy, and since about 2006 or so----after the Iraq war became sufficiently unpopular----they advanced it in the form of the mantra, “we must talk to our enemies.”

Topeka, Kansas, Unified School District 501 Places Sexual Deviancy on Its Curriculum
Edukshun piece by Paul A. Ibbetson
(11/26/11)
What part should schools play in the personal development of our children? Most parents naturally expect teachers and administrative staff to assist their children in learning important skills like reading, writing, and arithmetic, but we now know a child’s development goes far beyond the basics at school. Upon closer inspection, most parents recognize that schools often teach children additional skills, such as how to interact with others, follow rules, think critically, and in many cases, develop career aspirations for what their Mom’s and Dad’s hope will be a bright and happy future. All this instruction is positive and benefits our children. However, there is more still that students will learn.

Setting Brushfires, One Mario Lemieux Fan At A Time
General piece by J.J. Jackson
(4/9/11)
Little did I realize two weeks ago when my wife, love of my life, bought me for my birthday a replica of Mario Lemieux’s rookie season sweater that it would be such an opportunity for me to talk to people. If you are not a fan of hockey, first of all shame on you. If you are however a hockey fan but not a fan of Mario Lemieux? Then double shame on you. Lemieux, unlike other hockey greats, racked up Hall of Fame numbers while playing for perpetually bad teams early in his career, suffering from chronic back problems so bad that other people had to lace up his skates for him as well as also battling cancer. You can argue all you want about who the greatest hockey player of all time is. But when you look at what Lemieux did, especially in an era where clutching and grabbing was not only allowed but highly encouraged, there is little doubt. And most Pittsburghers know this. Fans from other hockey cities however often left their own prejudices cloud their judgment on the topic. That’s ok, we here in Pittsburgh are big people and forgive them.

The Left and Choke Point
Edukshun piece by Bruce Walker
(4/7/11)
The grand strategy of the left is to seize and then to occupy alone the choke points of society. The left is pleased to move slowly, disarming opponents through pious professions of unbiased interest. Consider education and its companion groups. Many decades ago, as early as the 1920s, the left began to deliberately occupy positions of control within the field of education. In academia, that meant grabbing sinecures in History, Political Science, Sociology and the like. It meant also the creation and control of professional associations of academicians. Tenure, once the left had a majority of the faculty, was used to deny opportunity for advancement to those who disagreed with the left and to promote untalented haters like Ward Churchill or Anita Hill into places of power. Now we live in a world in which leftism is ubiquitous in colleges.

Goldstone Gazumped On Gaza
Middle East piece by Guest:
David Singer (4/6/11)
Richard Goldstone now faces bitter condemnation from Israel following his belated admission that his infamous Report was wrong in finding that Israel had intentionally targeted civilians during its invasion of Gaza in December 2008.

Time Mag Editor: Koran Is ‘Directly The Word of God,’ Bible Just a Book ‘Written By Man’
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Warner Todd Huston
(4/5/11)
In another example of a sort of cultural suicide where western media types assume that all Muslims are blameless while all Americans are at fault in this clash of civilizations between Islamism and the West we have a recent episode of MSNBC’s Hardball with one-time Democratic operative Chuck Todd standing-in for host Chris Matthews.
‘When Isn’t The Muslim World Inflamed?’
Islam piece by Aaron Goldstein
(4/5/11)
When word got out in the northern Afghan city of Mazar-e-Sharif last weekend that a Florida pastor had burned a copy of the Koran a mob gathered in the streets and violence has ensued over the past several days resulting thus far in the deaths of 22 civilians including seven UN workers. (1)

Woman charged with email threats
Progressivism piece by OffSite
(4/4/11)

‘Girlie Man’ Culture of Government Schools
Femi-Nazis piece by OffSite
(4/4/11)
The notion that gender egalitarianism is central to the education process has caused dire consequences to Western Civilization. If proponents really sought political, social and economic equality between the genders, one might examine their claims with a sense of impartiality. However, the record of a feminized construct clearly demonstrates that equivalence is not their intention.

Warning! Just About Everything Will Kill You
GreeenIsm piece by Alan Caruba
(4/3/11)
According to a new book, “The Healthy Home”, every single room in your home or apartment is lethal. You would be better off living in a tent in the woods somewhere as far as the authors are concerned.

The “Smart” Meters Cometh
Energy piece by J.J. Jackson
(4/2/11)
If you want something to appear beneficial usually you just have to add certain adjectives to accomplish that feat. Tired of your old laundry detergent? Try the “new and improved”, “eco-friendly,” version that will give you “whiter whites”! You want someone to not know what you are really up to but do not want to technically lie to them either? Just adapt words and even invent new phrases. Hey, you see those troops over there? They are not at war. They are part of a “kinetic military action”! Liberals are not socialist, they are “progressive”! Abortion is not murder; it is a “choice”!

Wisconsin Union’s Boycott Likely Illegal
Unions piece by Warner Todd Huston
(4/1/11)
Government union members of AFSCME Council 24 are circulating letters(1) to local businesses in southeast Wisconsin threatening them that if they don’t come to immediate and vocal support of government unions the businesses will be targeted for attack.
‘Are Unintended Consequences the Intention?’
Progressivism piece by Robert R. Owens
(4/1/11)
Joining the slow motion delivery of Iraq to the Ayatollahs of Iran and the decade long quagmire of Afghanistan America’s Progressive leadership stumbled into Libya with all the bravado and none of the experience of Custer at Little Big Horn. The UN and NATO get more attention and have more influence on a decision affecting the lives of our warriors and the security of our nation than the United States Congress.

The Big BPA Lie - The BPA File, Part Three
Progressivism piece by Alan Caruba
(3/31/11)
When I began this series about bisphenol-A, BPA, I instituted a Google Alert for Internet posts that mentioned it. From January through March it generated a report each day filled with notifications of newspaper, magazine, and Internet posts all denouncing BPA has a hazardous chemical that threatened the health of everyone from infants to adults.

And the beat-down goes on
GreeenIsm piece by Guest:
Paul Driessen (3/30/11)
Proposed EPA rules will do more harm than good for human health, especially for minorities - Presidential candidate Barack Obama promised that his policies would cause electricity rates to “skyrocket” and “bankrupt” any company trying to build a coal-fired generating plant. This is one promise he and his uber-regulators are keeping.

A Political Cover Up: Gov. Quinn’s Racist Security Man
Demercrats piece by Warner Todd Huston
(3/29/11)
Several news sources have been working for days to get to the bottom of a story that might end up revealing that the head of one of Democrat Illinois Governor Pat Quinn’s police security details was involved in a racist attack on several black students in downstate Carlinville. Worse, the story seems to be undergoing a political cover up as news agencies are being stymied in rooting out the details.
‘Really? Libya? WHY?’
Middle East piece by Doug Edelman
(3/29/11)
Does anyone remember Operation Cyclone? - In 1979, Jimmy Carter began arming the Mujahidin in Afghanistan, and ordered the CIA to begin stirring Islamic unrest in the region to “destabilize” the area and help repel the “oppressive” Soviet Union. This action may well have made things more difficult for the Soviets, but it also set in motion the creation of Al Qaida and the Taliban! And, of course, Carter’s policies regarding Iran allowed the creation of the Islamic Republic, now the largest state sponsor of terror on the planet! One could well argue that Carter and his policies were contributory if not causative to the events leading to and following 9-11!

The Bureaucracies That Marijuana Feeds
States Rights piece by Guest:
Chuck Baldwin (3/27/11)
On March 14, 2011, federal police agencies raided scores of marijuana-related businesses in a number of states–including my home State of Montana. Hundreds of people were detained, put in handcuffs, and their property seized. To my knowledge, however, only a handful has actually been arrested (at least in Montana).

‘ATF gunwalking: Who knew, and how high up?’
ObamaNation piece by OffSite
(3/26/11)
Since our first report in which ATF agents told us they allowed thousands of weapons to cross into Mexico, one crucial question has been: Who knew—how high up?
‘Hey! Whose Weenie Is This In The Punch Bowl?’
Socialism piece by J.J. Jackson
(3/26/11)
AT&T wants to buy T-Mobile. AT&T made an offer. T-Mobile has agreed. It should be a fairly straight forward transaction and no more complicated than you or I buying milk from the grocery store. Oh but wait, as they say, there’s more! Since we are not a society that embraces capitalism, but rather socialism, there is government to contend with before this simple transaction can happen.

Truth And Lies of a Government ‘Shutdown’
Congress piece by Christopher G. Adamo
(3/24/11)
In broad daylight, after having won a landslide victory last November, congressional Republicans are engineering the most embarrassing surrender since Napoleon at Waterloo. And the greatest outrage of it is that such a debacle need not ever take place. To this day, the GOP remains in a prime position to devastate its Democrat opposition and strike a fatal blow to the liberal juggernaut that threatens financial ruin for this country. But, having accepted the standard media diatribe that engaging in such a contest might be politically costly, Republican leaders are instead opting to backtrack and capitulate.

More and more brave patriots are confronting the leftist socialist communists in their open attempt to transform our republic into their communist utopian cesspool. These pieces of information are to enlighten you on our never ending battle. Please do you part, no matter how small. A single grain of rice can tip the balance right or left. Let us make sure it is tipped the “right” way. (JMJ)

As Easy As Handing Out Candy
Middle East piece by Aaron Goldstein
(3/22/11)
On March 12, 2011, five members of the Fogel family were slaughtered inside their home in the West Bank settlement of Itamar. Three of the five family members killed were children including a three month old girl named Hadas.

‘Can You Hold It ‘til We Get Home?’
Politics piece by Guest:
Michael R. Shannon (3/19/11)
It’s beginning to look like Governor Flomax - the man who closed the highway rest stops in Virginia - will enter the race for our open US Senate seat. Former governor Tim Kaine is much sought after as a candidate due to his most notable accomplishment, which came on November 8, 2005, when he won the election. And not because he was the scourge of car–trip families all along the Eastern seaboard.

Obama - Confronting The Killing Culture In Palestine
Middle East piece by Guest:
David Singer (3/17/11)
The brutal murder of five members of the Fogel family including three children aged 11, 4 and 3 months - whilst asleep in their house - could only elicit the following pathetic response(1) from President Obama: “We condemn in the strongest possible terms the murder of five Israelis in a terrorist attack in the northern West Bank, and we offer our condolences to their loved ones and to the Israeli people. There is no possible justification for the killing of parents and children in their home. We call on the Palestinian Authority to unequivocally condemn this terrorist attack and for the perpetrators of this heinous crime to be held accountable.”

‘Has Massachusetts Become a Brown State?’
Politics piece by Aaron Goldstein
(3/15/11)
Nearly fourteen months have passed since Scott Brown shocked the political establishment when he captured “the peoples’ seat” in the U.S. Senate. This, of course, was the seat that once belonged to Ted Kennedy. The question that remains is whether Brown will be but a footnote in Massachusetts political history or if he will become the face of politics in the Bay State for years to come.

Out-of-the-Box Thinking for an Out-of-Control Budget
National Debt piece by Kevin Roeten
(3/14/11)
Certainly the $1.6 trillion dollar budget must not only be reigned in, but people must think “out-of-the-box”. The money can be easily cut, but too many are worried about an item’s ‘priority’. Budget shortfall would not exist at all if simple priorities were changed.

Palestine - Pontification, Prediction and Poppycock
Middle East piece by Guest:
David Singer (3/13/11)
The world has been agog this week at the news that Israel’s Prime Minister - Benjamin Netanyahu - is to announce a new peace plan in May - possibly in an address to the United States Congress - in an effort to end the conflict between Jews and Arabs in former Palestine.

Welcome to the Third World
Bird-Brain Flu piece by Guest:
Paul Driessen (3/12/11)
Develop American energy - or say good-bye to jobs, revenue and modern living standards - As Britain suffered through its coldest December in a century, families were forced to choose between keeping homes warm and feeding their children nourishing meals - thanks to climate policies that have forced extensive reliance on wind power and deliberately driven energy prices skyward.
What Will You Do When the Lights Go Out?’
Energy piece by Robert R. Owens
(3/12/11)
When the power goes off leaving you with no TV, Internet, or email you have a lot of time on your hands. Thankfully there are batteries, so my trusty computer will still work for a few hours, and I can follow my fingers into my thoughts. Looking out my window I can’t see any lights in the neighborhood so at least I know it isn’t just our house that’s in the dark. In addition, there are cars running up and down the street, so I know at least it wasn’t the dreaded EMP blast. The wind was making a strange noise but stopped, so we have come out from under the table since there’s no indication of a tornado on the way. All these kinds of thoughts run through your mind when the lights go off. In other words, when you’re in the dark there’s little light.
